When Ross Miller was elected as America’s youngest Secretary of State in 2006, he made a pledge to the citizens of Nevada. He promised to fight election fraud, make Nevada the most business friendly state in the country and demand accountability from our elected leaders. Ross Miller has delivered on his promises to Nevada.
As a former prosecutor, Ross knew the time had come to stamp out election law violations. He took bold action in establishing the Election Integrity Task Force, whose sole mission is maintaining the sanctity of our elections. During the historic presidential election, the Task Force successfully investigated multiple offenders, restoring faith in the electoral process. Ross presided over the largest turnout in Nevada history and administered an election free from irregularities witnessed in other jurisdictions.
With a Masters’ in Business Administration, a law degree and a degree from Stanford University, Ross Miller looks at the office from a business perspective. He developed new services that will simultaneously generate millions of dollars in revenue for Nevada and streamline state government.
Ross deployed cutting-edge technologies to create a “One-Stop Shop” for all Nevada businesses called the Nevada Business Portal. The Portal is a true “game changer.” It will allow Nevada business owners to handle their licensing, billing, payments and filings with state and local governments online, all through a single website… and without having to leave their computer. The Portal is unprecedented in America and will generate more than $20 million a year in new revenue for our state. That’s money that we dearly need during these tough economic times.
Ross Miller is a third generation Nevadan who, prior to his election, served as a Deputy District Attorney. He knows we expect our public officials to do the people’s business in a fully open and transparent manner. That’s why Ross campaigned for and delivered common sense campaign finance reforms….reforms that guarantee a more truthful and thorough disclosure from every elected official in Nevada.
Ross’ wife Lesley is a local attorney. He is the son of former Governor Bob Miller and First Lady Sandy Miller.
